185 year old log cabin
From drab and stuck in the 90's to a fresh and modern take on mid-century design, while also making sure to honor the past of this wonderful little cabin located in St. Charles, MO. This cabin was built in 1835 and to let the rustic logs shine bright and be the star of the show, I incorporated white pops of fabric, a Lucite office chair, and a dark rug in the bedroom for a soothing, but no lack of personality environment. The downstairs carries on the theme, with the addition of a kitchenette. This highly functional space has dark green cabinets, an uber cute mint green fridge, pops of brass hardware, and a very large farm sink. The dining room gives off a Scandinavian vibe, while the living room incorporates a really fun velvet yellow couch that provides ample seating for watching TV or listening to jazz on the pale blue record player.
